City actress in Capote 'getting calls from all over the world,' agent says of Oscar aftermath


WILLIAM VINCE, the Infinity Features executive and Capote producer, hosted that movie's Oscars-night bash in Los Angeles. That left the firm's Rob Merilees to do it for a crowd party organizer Rory Richards corralled to watch the Academy Awards show on television at the Steamworks pub-eatery here.

Cheers and whistles echoed when the five-times-nominated picture's star, Philip Seymour Hoffman, snagged its only Oscar.  But the sweeter sound Lesa Kirk firm agent Kim Edwards heard was that of a repeatedly ringing telephone.

"I'm getting calls from all over the world about Allie Mickelson's supporting role in Capote's opening scenes of a Kansas farmhouse in which Herbert Clutter and his family were slain.  That crime gave late author Truman Capote the theme for his best-selling In Cold Blood.
